Lessons and Training

DIVERSE TRAINING PROGRAM

Whether you are a beginner rider ready to lease or own a pony/horse or a seasoned show competitor, there is an opportunity for you to grow as a rider at River's Edge. Our riders show at  local, A/AA, and national finals horse shows in a program designed to prepare riders for success in the hunter, jumper, equitation, and pony divisions.

Professional training rides are available as well. Whether it’s  the occasional tune-up or on a regular schedule of weekly rides, Eliza and her staff will ensure that horses and ponies are in a designed program.

CUSTOMIZED LESSONS

REF offers both private and small group lessons to Hunter, Jumper, Equitation and Pony riders. Lessons are designed to meet the needs and the goals of the rider while promoting the enjoyment of riding. Our team has the experience to help you achieve your goals and we take pride in our ability to understand each horse while creating a customized program for success.

For non-boarders who would like to ship-in for a private lesson, please contact the barn for availability.

Boarding

FACILITY & CARE

All stalls are 12 x 12, matted and equipped with fans. All horses receive daily turnout in large individual paddocks. At Rivers Edge Farm, you can expect high quality Cavalor feed and T&A or Timothy hay depending on your horse’s needs. Standard care includes customized feeding, stall cleaning,  turning in/out, blanketing, and night check.

PACKAGES

Boarders at Rivers Edge Farm may choose between two boarding plans, one of which includes a lesson package. Please inquire for pricing details.

Horse Showing

LOCAL TO AA RATED SHOWS

REF attends a range of shows, offering opportunities to all levels of riders. From local shows at Mullet Hall on Johns Island to shows at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, riders and their families can go and show with the REF team. For non-boarders who would like to show with REF, please contact the barn for a schedule of upcoming shows and availability of stalls.

HORSE SHOW CARE

REF is a full service horse show barn. Training for riders is provided on show days and on schooling days. Care for horses includes feeding, bathing, lunging, grooming, tacking/untacking and unbraiding.  As needed, Eliza can both school and show horses and ponies.

Other Services

ADD-ONS

REF also arranges supplemental services. Body clipping, veterinary and dental care, chiropractic treatment and farrier service will be scheduled for barn visits as needed. For those horses that receive any of these services, boarders are responsible for paying the service provider directly.
